Bali, August 2020 – This month, representatives of Meliá Bali Team went to TPA Suwung, a waste center in Bali, to handout our unused linens for the women in that community who will turn them into eco-friendly drawstring bags. This is a continuation of our Linens for Life project, a part of the Community Involvement Program to support Bali Life Foundation.

Linens for Life first project was two months ago, where face masks were produced by the same community. Beforehand, similar project called Soap for Hope was also carried out by us in collaboration with Diversey, having the same mission to help the community. Thus far, our Community Involvement Program has delivered results in helping and uplifting the community involved as well as inspiring us, and hopefully the hospitality industry as a whole, to do more for these unfortunate communities.

Meliá Bali has promised to be socially and environmentally conscious in all of our conducts and Linens for Life is one of the ways to embody them. Therefore, we will continuously make efforts in our Community Involvement Program and give constant support to the communities impacted by the program. We believe that everyone has to do their part in giving back to the community, as a wise person once said, “Giving is not just about making a donation, it is about making a difference.”
